Burn Ban

Parish President Jessie Bellard has signed an executive order issuing a Burn Ban for the Parish starting October 15, 2024 and will be in effect until further notice. The ban applies to all activities involving an open flame that produces embers. Agricultural burning can continue as long as it is approved by the Department of Agriculture, and Fire Districts are notified. This decision was put in place based on the recommendation of the state climatologist. For more information, call the St. Landry Parish Government at 337-948-3688.

Town Hall Closure

The Town of Washington Town Hall will close at 12 noon today Sept. 10th and remain closed on Wednesday and possibly longer. We will assess the situation after the storm to determine when office hours will resume.
