Burn Ban

Parish President Jessie Bellard has signed an executive order issuing a Burn Ban for the Parish starting October 15, 2024 and will be in effect until further notice.  The ban applies to all activities involving an open flame that produces embers.  Agricultural burning can continue as long as it is approved by the Department of Agriculture, and Fire Districts are notified.  This decision was put in place based on the recommendation of the state climatologist.  For more information, call the St. Landry Parish Government at 337-948-3688.

American Legion Jasper Neyland Post 209 fundraiser

Please consider supporting our local American Legion.  American Legion Jasper Neyland Post 209 will host a barbecue dinner sale on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00PM.  Chicken or pork dinners will be sold for $12.  Proceeds from the fundraiser will be dedicated toward renovation of the American Legion Property.

Family and Friends of Jasper Neyland Post 209, please join the Post for a Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal Ceremony on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.  Arrive between 5:00 and 5:30 PM with the presentation scheduled for 6:00PM.  1433 Hwy 10, Washington, LA 70589.  The Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal was created to honor, recognize and thank Louisiana Veterans for their honorable military service.  Medals are available to all honorably discharded Louisiana Veterans and to the family of those killed in action.  The Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal is available with a blue ribbon for honorable discharge, a purple ribbon for Purple Heart recipients, a black ribbon for Prisoners of War, and a yellow ribbon for killed in action.
