Love the Boot Week

"Cleanup In The Old Town"

We are excited to invite you to Washington's "Cleanup in the Old Town" Cleanup on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, as part of Louisiana's Love the Boot Week initiative. Love the Boot Week is Louisiana’s largest litter removal and beautification effort, bringing awareness to our state’s litter problem while empowering organizations and individual citizens to clean up litter and beautify spaces in their communities.

Join Washington Garden Club, Steamboat City Association, the Town of Washington and members of the public as we clean up areas of the town including St. Landry Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Main Street, Courtableau Bridge, the Boat Landing, and around Washington Town Hall & Museum. Cleanup will be from 8:30 - 12:00 on the morning of Saturday, April 25th. Together, we’re doing our part to Keep Louisiana Beautiful—one bag at a time.

Here is what to expect on the day of the event:

Meeting Location & Parking - Town Pavillion - 120 S St. Landry Veterans Memorial Hwy, Washington, LA (across from Washington Police Dept).  For more information phone 337-826-3626.
